Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter heart rate jumps all around. It goes from 73 to as high as 220. That is her resting rate. She said her chest feels tight and her right arm hurts when she starts having these jumping episodes. On average its jumps from 73-125 all day. Somedays higher and even low spikes. We have been to numerous heart doctors and a Electrophysiology doctor. Finally the Electrophysiologist said she has a over active sinus node. This has been going since she was 16 and now is 20 years old. She was taking a beta blocker but it makes her feel much worse so she stopped taking it. She was sleeping all the time on the beta blocker and no energy. Currently she does work out a few days a week but she just started exercising on a regular basis. She is about 30lbs overweight and that is the reason she is trying to drop pounds. Again this has been going on for years. Her blood work comes back okay but could there be something they are not seeing? Is this normal for someone s heart to jump around all over the place or is she just over worried about nothing? I have tried to monitor mine and mine is never over 100 unless I m exercising.
