Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
High blood pressure is caused by many things- genetics, old age, obesity, smoking, all factors together.
Only one measurement does not indicate that you have high blood pressure that needs treatment, because sometimes blood pressure can be high from caffeine intake, stress or white coat of the doctor, etc.
So my recommendation is that you measure blood pressure at home for 1 week, twice/day and record the values. With those you should go to your local doctor to decide the medicines that are needed specifically for you. It is not good to take the medicines of your husband because those are suitable for him and not for you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
