What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Levels?

I have never had high blood pressure before. Recently I took my blood pressure at a kios at a store my pressure was 127/80 but it said I had a low heart pulse 54. I am concerned cause I have never seen this before. What could be some causes for this?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The blood pressure you mentioned is pretty normal. Yes, the pulse you said is slightly low , there can be many causes for low heart rate .
This can be normal in an athlete. i,e. who does lot of exercise. Other problems associated with it be like low thyroid, or some heart problems. What I would advise is that you recheck you pulse again; if it is still low, then you should see you doctor to get an ECG done , and he would be assessing you in more details.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
