What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Level And Severe Headache?

I just saw my general physician yesterday, who increased my lisinopril to 20 mg from 10 mg. I took 20 mg last night at 9:00 pm. This morning, before eating, but 30 minutes after drinking about 25 ounces water, my bp was 177/107, with bad headache upon waking. I rested, ate, and retook it two hours later. It was 188/110. It has since come down to 173/100 with resting.

I am 53 with early onset, early stage dementia (frontotemporal), diagnosed by UCI/UCSF in 2012 with brain scans. I have developed high blood pressure in the last year.

Question: Should I call my doc back to tell her bp after increasing lisinopril, or wait and let it work?

Hypertension(high BP) can either be primary or secondary(due to another pathology). Headaches are usually one of the first signs of an elevated blood pressure.
If increasing the dose of Lisinopril doesn't have the desired effect, I would advice you to get to your doctor as soon as possible. I will recommend investigating the function of your kidneys to rule out any underlying kidney pathology
