What Causes Elevated Alkaline Phosphate?

I am 50 years old male and I have an elevated alkaline phosphate. latest blood chemistry test on october, 2011 is 286U/L. Starting last august, 2011 I am under medication for my enlarge prostate, grade 1. Presently i am taking proscar, 5mg tablet for three (3) months and will end this november, 2011.
My queries are:
1. is my medication causes the increase in my alkaline phosphate level?
2. what will be the proper medication or ways to reduce my alkaline phosphate to normal level?
3. what type of medical doctor will i consult?

thank you and God bless
