What Causes Elevated Alkaline Phosphate Levels?

My alkaline phosphate is 159 I m female ,60,don t drink but have in the past I don t now and never was a big drinker? My ap was normal till august then it went to 136 and boon now 157. Had liver biopsy oday no results yet. Do you have any idea I am on several med like blood press,syntheoid peilosec,radadine . I ve had my thyroid remover and upper 2 para thyroids. I keep reading that thyroid and alkaline could be connected but not sure I m readin it rig

Hello,

Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is present in many human tissues such as bone, intestine, kidneys, liver, placenta and WBC. Any damage to these tissues will result in a rise in ALP.

ALP is not elevated in hypothyroidism, so your other liver enzymes such as SGPT and SGOT should be checked in order to establish any association of raised ALP with liver damage.

Please consult with your doctor for a definitive reason for this elevation.
