What Causes Elevated WBC Count, Sore Throat, Neck Pain And Lower Back Pain?
Hello, My 34 year old nephew was admitted to the hospital last night with 102 fever, sore throat, neck pain and low back pain. His white blood cell count is high but I do not have numbers. He did go swimming in a chlorinated pool yesterday but that s all. Any ideas?

Just check his CBC report...
If total count high with neutrophilia than antibiotic course needs to be prescribed as it can be bacterial infection
His ASO titre and throat swab if needed should be taken
For congestion relief decongestant like cetrizine can be prescribed
Salt water gargle done with warm water three times a day
Steam inhalation useful
Drink more water
Avoid excess spicy foods for few days
Take care
