What Causes Elevated PSA Levels Post Lupron Withdrawal?

I was taking lupron for 10 years to slow down my prostate cancer, which lowered my psa, which was 56, it took it down to almost zero. My urologist kept me off for 5 years keepin tract of my psa. My latest psa test is a staggering 632 and and a return to Lupron shots. What is this going to do ? and is this a stage 4 ? Will this help at all ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

This doesn't mean that he is stage 4. You should get further evaluated doing an ultrasound and also further tests if needed in order to determine the stage of the cancer.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
