Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern.

As per your query you have electric shock sensations in mouth and tongue which is troubling you, the main cause for that is antidepressant drug Venlafaine. Withdrawal symptoms of such drugs are very severe and they give a feeling like electric shock in mouth to dizziness, mood disorder. Another major reason for the same is presence of any amalgam filling in your mouth. Amalgam filings causes leakage of mercury over age and using saliva as electrolyte it started giving shock type feel.

I would suggest you to visit psychiatrist once or neurologist to check the withdrawal effects of this medication and take any medication which can reduce its symptoms. Visit dentist once to check if any amalgam filling or bridge work is hindering in mouth and get that removed and replaced with composite filling.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshari
