For about a year now, about maybe once a month or so, I ll be sleeping and get what feels like an electrical shock in my perineum. The first couple of times it happen, I literally woke up looking around to room to see who did it. It only lasts for a second or two, and there is no pain involved. It s almost like someone tasers me. I m a 48 year old healthy male with the exception of hypothyroidism and some minor arthritis...any ideas?
It may be a neuromuscular phenomenon. However, there may be some issues with the urogenital system. Get your urinalysis and ultrasound examination done. General blood work may also be carried out.
