What Causes Early Menstruation With Brown Vaginal Spotting?

I ve had deep brown spotting since Dec 21.and all of the sudden it turned into globs of brown spotting or discharge. Not expecting my period. My period comes around the 8th every month, and I was late and got It 3 days later..It only lasted 2 days which isn t normal for me The discharged turned from dark Brown (not red ) to a light brown. I will have the implanon in for 3 years this coming may. Is this something to be concerned about?

The brown discharge is usually old blood.

This is the most common cause.

At this stage , since this is the first time this has occurred, you can try to monitor and see if it recurs.

If it does, you may need to be seen by your doctor. This assessment should include physical examination of the abdomen , vagina and cervix.
Testing including a pap smear if no recent one and an ultrasound, can be done.
