Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, during the night I would wake up with ear pain as when you have allergies and tug and put pressure on your ears to try and make it stop. It continued for a couple of nights. Starting around Thursday my nose started running during sleeping that it would wake me up and periodically during the day. The left side of my face feels thight, pressure in my ear , also when I swallow I get like a crackling feeling in my left ear. I feel pressure on my left eye and pain in my throat.
The symptoms seems to be due to fluid in the ear causing blocked Eustachian tube and it is the cause for pressure and clogged feeling..
Also when you lay down on bed it can cause increased pressure over the Eustachian tubes leading to pain and increased discomfort and pressure..
So the first thing that you need to do is to consult an ENT Physician and get evaluated. A clinical examination and Otoscopy of ear can help in ruling out the cause and treatment can be done accordingly..
If there is fluid in the ear then it can be drained along with a course of antibiotics and decongestants..
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora, Dentist
