What Causes Ear Pain And Swelling And Pain In Face?

I have an ear pit that is really hurting and swelled.it is hurting into my face and temple I m 30 and have never had problems. Was wondering do I need to go into the doctor tonight or can I wait till tomorrow after work to go in. Just wondering if it can become serious when untreated since it close to brain.

You describe signs of a rapidly spreading infection. There is a risk to your entire body with a spreading infection.? It is best to see a doctor, determine the source and be placed on an antibiotic to help control the spread of the infection. You may get some relief from Antiinflammitory medications such as Tylenol or Advil. These do not help fight infection and only offer temporary relief for your symptoms. Severe swelling involving the throat can compromise breathing. From your description, I suspect ear or dental infections to be a source of your condition. If you feel considerably worse, visit an emergency room. Antibiotics can be prescribed and you will be referred to the appropriate physician.
