What Causes Ear Pain And Mouth Numbness With Painless Head Sensations?

I am a 21 year old nursing student and today at work I had an extreme pain in my right ear and then a numbing almost paralysis of the right side of my mouth. It hurt to swallow and it was underneath my jaw bone. It went away in about 45 minutes.I also felt burning type painless sensations in my head. I know that this sounds super weird but since it has only happened once I thought I should ask before I describe my awkward symptoms to a doctor during a visit. Thank you SO much!

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....

As per your complain pain and numbness on right side of mouth along with pain in ear can be due to infection in ear leading to inflammation of the branches of facial nerve that supplies muscles of face..
Any disruption to its function can lead to paralysis of the muscles over affected side and it can lead to numbness..
I would suggest you to consult a Neurophysician ad get evaluated..
As of now you can start taking Vitamin B complex and do warm compresses over the face..
In case if there is any disorder associated with facial nerve he can advise you to take steroids to prevent facial palsy..
