What Causes Ear Bleeding?

My daughter will be 5 next week. she has had tubes in her ears for about 2 yrs. Today, while swimming, she went underwater unexpectedly without the plugs in her ears. She was behaving fine all evening, but a few minutes ago, she thought water was coming from her ear and put her finger in to see, but it was blood (bright red). I cleaned the ear out carefully, but it started to bleed again a few minutes later. could her tubes be loosening / coming out?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Your daughter may be having acute otitis media due to the entry of water in the ear. It is an infection of the middle ear. Consult an ENT surgeon and check the ear and get it cleaned. Start an antibiotic, nose spray. Avoid water entry in the ear.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rajat Basak,
