What Causes Dull Pain In Mid Chest And Cold Sensation In Arms?

Hello sir, first my pain started with left arm pit above my chest ribs, then I went to cardiologist and he took ECG and said I m ok its probably myalgia. Then dull pain started in my left shoulder and back of my heart area, and sometimes in right arm, and also when I press near my belly button it hurts and I can feel heart beat, anyways I went to second cardiologist he took ECG it was normal then he took my BP it was 150/ 95. He said I have to take bp medicine and I should ignore these pains but I am concerned why I am having these pains? And also when I sleep with heart down, I wake up with dull pain and some time I had cold sensation running through my both arms starting from chest above ribs. I am 27 and this been happening from last 3 months.

Dear I can understand your concern . I would like to suggest you that ischemic pain of cardiac origin or we call it angina has certain features typically it is not pain it's a discomfort . Usually retrosternal in location that is in mid of chest but left and right side are also very common with radiation to rt or left arm or to jaw.it get aggrevated on exertion and relieved on taking rest.but some time just sweating or extreme weakness fatigue and dizziness may be the manifestation . Before considering angina we look for certain risk factors such as male sex, age more than 40 but it is now common in younger age groups also ,smoker, hypertension, diabetes obesity , sedentary life style , dyslipidemia , family history etc. Diagnosis of angina is clinical that means it is based on history only.ecg echocardiography may all come to normal..so you can understand the importance of complete history and examination . In your case if you have few risk factors then you can undergo treadmill test..that can be helpful in making correct diagnosis . So maintain your blood pressure and discuss abt this with your cardiologist . Hope this will help.
