Hi Dr. Bhatti, I had a tonsillectomy 10 days ago and I m having a problem with a dry throat. The front of my mouth is very moist and is having no problems, but just past my tongue is dry. The dryness leads to pain when I drink anything, even ice water. It also feels as if there is a sore behind my tongue which hurts every time I drink. I was wondering if there was anything I could to combat these issues?
Hi, It seems that due to tonsillectomy operation there might be having some rough and sore area and some induration producing this problem. Go for antiseptic gargles daily. Take light food. Avoid fried and junk food for some time. Take some throat soothing lozenges or vitamin C lozenges. Ok and take care.
