What Causes Dryness In Throat And Problem In Breathing After Drinking?
hi, i drink about once a week and the day after i drink my throat feels extremely dry and its sort of hard to breath normally, im not diabetic that i know of and i do smoke cigarettes, this only happens after i drink heavy and last for 24hrs and goes away. im 24 about 215lbs.
Would depend upon what you are drinking. I suspect it is NOT beer and I suspect you do not have an addiction problem, but a predictable organic chemistry problem! Take the alcohol. Put some on your skin and blow. It evaporates and draws water out as it evaporates. It's got to be a high percent of alcohol to do this (80% rubbing alcohol does it best and is useful as a cleaning/sterilzing agent due to this action). Then the dryness in throat causes either/both slight inflammation of the nearby respiratory area (mostly a problem with GETTING a full breath, NOT with wheeze and expiration!) OR... a mild panic attack. I dunno. You get used to it over time. Having drinks that are more diluted with water or even better with protein containing water (creme based) would lower the symptoms. Beer and wine have less of this.
