What Causes Dry Skin Along With Itchy Rashes On The Body?

Hi, out of nowhere I started getting dry skin, rash looking, flaking, sore/red skin and itching skin especially at night time. It started of with neck, stomac, inner arms, lower legs, behind the ears and lower back. And now I think it s spreading out more to certain places I didn t have this problem with. When to the doctor and he gave me betamethasone 0.1%. It kind of helped but as soon as I finished my cream it flared up again. The doctor did say it s psoratias I don t know what to do now

Hello,

It could be due to conditions like eczema. As a first line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like betamethasone for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
