What Causes Dry Nipples And Red Marks To Appear On Breast?

I am a 32 yr old female. I woke up this morning with red marks on one of my breast. The nipple is very dry (almost lookes burnt?). It is a little sore, but doesnt really hurt. I had breast augmentation 8 months ago. I am not pregnant and had my last yearly 1 month ago and checked out fine.

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

I think this can be due to breast augmentation surgery and there may be superficial infection in your breast. I would suggest you to apply topical antibiotics ointment with steroids for 10 days. If symptoms don't reduce, do an ultrasound examination of both breasts.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
