Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern.

As per your query you have symptoms of throat obstruction and extreme dry mouth is mainly because of inflammation of papillae of tongue and mainly fungi-form and lingual papillae and this inflammation leads to enlargement of papillae and throat obstruction.

Another possible reason for this viral infection of oral cavity leading to tonsillitis, dry mouth and dehydration of oral cavity.

I would suggest you to not to panic about it. Take antibiotics such as combination of Ibuprofen and Diclofenac to prevent inflammation of papillae.

Drink plenty of fluids and rehydrate oral cavity.

Maintain proper oral hygiene to prevent further spread of infection.

Apply Daktarin oral gel in mouth to prevent dryness and further flaking.

Apply cotton dipped in tea tree oil and apply around oral cavity.

Visit dentist once and get it examined properly by taking scrap from oral cavity and get it biopsied. If it comes out to be viral infection start with antiviral drugs such as Acyclovir, Famicyclovir.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
