What Causes Dry Itchy Spot On The Calf?
my boyfriend has a dry itchy spot on his calf, seems to have it all winter and if he does not keep lotion on it..it gets bigger and itches more. He hates Drs. is scared of them. Was wondering if need to convince him to go to a Dr. or can I use another solution to help this situation

Thanks for writing to Hcm.
Itchy recurrent spot on calf is mostly due to fungal infection.
As he is not convenient to go to doctor u can try atab. Terbinafine 500 mg bd for 10 days along with miconazole ointment for local application.
For itching u may use cetrizine .
If it doesn't resolve after 15 days of treatment I recommend u to visit a dermatologist.
