What Causes Dry Cough And Tightness In Chest?

Hello, I am 36 years old. This will be my 3rd day with zero voice. Dry cough, tight achy chest. Almost feels like it's hard to breath. I have a 5 month old baby....that I am breast feeding. Very worried about her getting whatever I have. At what point should I take myself to docter? Or ER? I read up on laryangitus and it's seems like most people said to wait...awhile before seeing docter.Thank you....Leia Barrientos
