Hello! I noticed my lips turn dry and very black and sometimes I have to peel it off because it turns flaky. I also noticed that it sometimes begins to get back to it s normal colour but turn black again. Please what is the cause and how do I cure it?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

This depends on the other pigmentation. If someone is all over dark complexioned, there are a lot of skin irritation causes that can do this. If one is light complexioned, then there may be a circulation issue such as lung disease.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Matt Wachsman
