What Causes Drowsiness And Chest Pain While On Truvada And Isentress?

My son had to start Truvada and Isentress last Friday due to a finger stink in pre-med class. The other student didn t tested until Tuesday of this week. By Wednesday afternoon, we learned that my son could stop the drugs. Tonight, he is having extreme difficulty raising his left arm and has been acting almost drunk with some chest pain. Are these potential withdrawal symptoms?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your concern and would explain that his symptoms are not related to Truvada or Isentress withdrawal symptoms, but to a possible infection. I recommend going to the ER for a physical exam and some tests (including CPK levels, complete blood count, ESR and PCR levels).

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
