What Causes Dizziness, Lightheadedness And Dyspnea While Treating High BP?

Hi, I usually suffer from a bit of height blood pressure and am on blood pressure medication but over the last few days I have woken up with headache and feeling like I have a bit of trouble breathing through my nose. Yesterday I also felt dizzy and light headed so I took my blood pressure and it was 101/54. My heatrate was 54 which is good for me as it s usually under 50. I have been monitoring my bp since yesterday and it is now 110/62 but I still feel a bit funny. Not sure if this is ok. We have a history of heart problems in my family.

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, your blood pressure medication needs to be reviewed if your blood pressures remain persistently low, it may cause dizziness and sometimes medications like ACE inhibitors can cause a postural drop or beta blockers causing low heart rates, all can present with such symptoms. Also, serum electrolytes imbalance caused by some medicine should be ruled out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
