What Causes Dizziness, Cough And Chills After Taking Enalapril 20 Mg?

I have bradycardio and currently taking enalapril 20 mg tab 2 x day for hypertension. I have a lot of allergies to medications. the enalapril is making me cough, chills, dizzy. I ve tried lisinopril but it speeded my heart up. what other hbp meds can I take with oout those side effects.

Enalapril belongs to the family of drugs called ACE inhibitors. These types of medications can be associated with a possible cough.

You should not use any medications in this family in this case.

Unfortunately all medications are associated with potential side effects but it is possible to use a medication and not experience any or many of the possible side effects.

You can try medication such as hydrochlorthiazide which is a diuretic or you can try medications from the ARB family of medications such as valsartan, candesartan, telmisartan.

One of these may agree with you.
