What Causes Dizziness And Slow Heart Rate?

I am having occasional faintness with a heart rte that drops into the forties. I am also 65 and have type 2 insulin dependent diabetes, type 2. I have not fainted, but feel like I was going to. Should I be concerned about this? thank you, Dolores YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As your pulse rate dips to 40, then you should undergo complete cardiac evaluation by ECG, blood pressure monitoring.

Some patients need a drug to raise heart rate and some need pacemakers.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi,
