Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
About 20 minutes ago I had a dizziness attack while sitting at my dining room table studying anatomy and physiology. I am a 60 year old military retired female (grandmother). I have stress still from military service which ended in 2013. I have been trying to move forward with living. I decided to take course work this semester and although I have As so far, I still feel very anxious about grades and other things. I have had vertigo before and for several weeks at a time so Im always alarmed by any dizzy feeling. Before this semester I was strength training regularly but since this semester I m lucky to do a spin class once a week. Anyway I have VA health care, which means no health care or any one to call. I do have a VA choice doc for osteoarthritic hands with hebeners nodes and a swann neck joint on middle finger of right hand. I have been taking meloxicam and know that dizziness is a side effect, but didn t take any yet today and had the dizzy incident. There was also a weird tightening in my head which turned into a spin like vertigo. I got up from table and guided myself on a shelf to the floor until I felt I could get up ok. I texted my neighbor who isnt home. So now Im just sitting trying to watch tv to relax. I ve gained weight also during this semester; seems I may be retaining water as well and I have been eating some comfort foods like dark chocolate and nuts in large portion sizes just to relax. Stupid. Sorry this is so long. I hope that once finals are over I can get better with my health. Any ideas on what I can do when dizziness strikes with no doctor other than unavailable VA doctor. Thanks.
