What Causes Dizziness And Nausea?

My boyfriend feels very dizzy and has nausea. He needs to lay down to feel normal. He started vomiting on Friday evening and then he slept all day on Saturday, I checked his tempurature and it was 97.7. He did drink some liquids and ate some broth from the chicken noodle soup then went back to bed. Now it is Sunday afternoon and he is still not feeling well. He is still dizzy and has an upset stomach, I am not sure what to do, he was able to eat some toast with a little bit of jelly and some crackers. but then he had to go and lay back down. Currently he does not have insurance since he is between jobs, so he really does not want to fo to the doctor if not needed, Are these symtoms typical for someone that has the flu? Are there any home remedies to help him?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about your boyfriend and understood the concerns.
Dizziness, nausea, not feeling normal, sleeping all the day and been suffering for the last 3 days can be due to flu.
You can certainly give him full dosages o Paracetamol, plenty of fluids, electrolyte solution and see the results whether he is feeling better or not.
If he recovers with these continue as it is but if the problem persist in can definitely go to the walk-in clinical for non-insured people to get a clinical evaluation, examination and investigations to get a proper clinical diagnosis and a proper prescription based medications like a PPI Omeprazole, antibiotics if infection is suspected and symptomatic and supportive treatment.
It is better to take him to the clinic as it is already three days that he is suffering.
