What Causes Dizziness And Nausea?

I fainted last Sunday, but did not go to the ER. I have since been experiencing lightheadedness at various times, both after sitting for a while, and after standing or walking for a while. I have also been nauseous and have thrown up twice. What could be the cause of these symptoms?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I think you are experiencing orthostatic hypotension.
Causes of it are
* dehydration
*heart problems bradycardia,heart valve problems or heart failure
*endocrine problems hypoglycaemia or Addison
*neurological disorders such atrophy or lewy body dementia.
Also some medications used to treat high blood pressure or heart disease, such as diuretics, alpha blockers, beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and nitrates can couse orthostatic hypotension.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
