What Causes Dizziness And Nausea After Taking An Emergency Contraceptive Pill?

Question: A week ago I had sexual relaxations with my boyfriend and we did not take care of ourselves, I bought the pill the day after and I took it 24 hours later. The next day after taking the pill I suffered dizziness, nausea, numbness of the right arm and ormigueo in the tongue or numbness, also severe headaches. I vomited, too. My questions are? It will be that side effect of the pill. A week has passed and I felt numbness again, ormigueo, dizziness, headache and mild fever. Can I be pregnant? Thank you.

Hello,

I think you can be having side effects of the pill as it contains a high dose of progesterone. If your periods are delayed, do a urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy first. If negative, then don't worry. These symptoms will go away on its own. But if these persist, consult a doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Khushboo Priya
