Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Three weeks ago I developed a wierd sensation when laying down. I feel a falling sensation thst starts in my head and will sometimes go through my body. I am a ER nurse thst works the nigh shift for many years so my sleep patterns have never been good. This is horrible and I cannot sleep when this occurs. Sometimes I feel like my heart beat is irregular when this occurs. Not sure how to handle this and it does not appear to be letting up at all. Would appreciate some answers..thank you
It is possible that the symptom you are having are due to your erratic sleeping schedule. But it is advisable to get an ECG done to rule out any cardiac causes as you have mentioned that you are having irregular heartbeat s.
If your ECG comes normal then it is advisable that you take a sedative like clonazepam or alprazolam to help you with your sleep. But since these are prescription drugs you have to discuss this with your physician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
