What Causes Dizziness And Imbalance Issues In A 66 Year Old?

I have been experiencing dizziness or lightheadedness, where I feel unsteady on my feet. The ENT doctor is having me geg a. MRI oc the brain and id also checking my BUN and Creatinin blood work. Why only those two elements and I am getting nervous thinking it might be a brain tumor. I am a 66 year old female with a diagnosed hearing loss of 40%.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thank you for asking Healthcare majic.
My name is Dr Ehsan Ullah &
I have gone through your query.

The imbalance & Dizziness have different causes...

after taking patient's detailed history and examination , then the examining physician can formulate differentials and starts work up accordingly.

some causes are listed below

A) Inner Ear disease ...

B) Meniere's Disease

C) Vestibular neuritis

D) Positional vertigo

E) Brain pathologies involving Cerebellum which coordinates and regulates muscular activity.

and 2nd aspect of your question is being nervous thinking its Brain tumor...

since your workup is in progress and thinking in advance of such tumor etc will just keep you worry but give you no added benefit ...

you should continue your workup on regular Basis for diagnosis and then treatment.

get well soon

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
