What Causes Dizziness And Extreme Fatigue?

Lately, I have been feeling faint when I first get up, especially in the evenings. I also feel that I must shove food into my mouth. I was hospitalized a few week ago for dehydration, and they over hydrated me causing a multitude of other problems that last for a week. I am Afib. Now that I am feeling good again, the weakness is coming over me to faint again and I am stuffing myself with various cravings and today I cannot get enough water.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

When you have been already treated with dehydration it is not because of electrolyte imbalance. Dizziness & fatigue can also result due to iron deficiency anemia, hypoglycemia, insomnia (fatigue syndrome) or migraine. Take adequate rest, avoid stress & addictions, if any. Stay well fed. Report immediately to the treating PCP if you develop memory problems, vomiting, headache or changes in behavior. As you may require physical examination & medications, take care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
