Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. You have mentioned two issues in your query. One is poor sleep with multiple awakening in night. Second is diabetes and its related complications. The persistent neuropathic pain is preventing you to sleep sound. First thing I'd advise you to get your sugar levels checked along with HbA1c levels. These levels will provide control over long term sugar levels and if these levels come in abnormal values then visit a doctor for treatment.

For poor sleep and neuropathic pain visit a neuropsychiatrist. Medicines like Gabapentine or Pregabalin can be utilised for sleep as well as neuropathic pain. High doses of these medicines will reduce pain and will provide sound sleep. If even with these medicines sleep doesn't improve then low dose benzodiazepines or Z drugs can be used for sleep. Drugs like Clonazepam, Diazepam or long acting Zolpidem etc can be used for proper refreshing sound sleep. Please consult a psychiatrist for evaluation and help.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
