What Causes Dizziness After Waking Up?

The last two mornings, as I was getting out of bed, the room started spinning and I could not stand without falling. The sensation lasted for 1-2 minutes, then went away. A few times during the day, it seemed that the sensation was about to reappear, but quickly went away. Is this vertigo?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your experience with spinning sensations lasting for about 1-2mins I am suggesting that you have developed the following differential diagnosis

Vestibular neuronitis
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo
Menieres disease
Compression of the vestibulococlers nerve

In view of this please see an ENT specialist for further clinical evaluation laboratory investigations as well as adequate drug prescription

I hope this helps Regards
