What Causes Distracted Behavior And Anger Issues In An 8-year Old Boy?

hello, i have an 8 year old little boy who has behavior problems at home and in school and everywhere in public. lots of concern from school teacher every year since kindergarted such as grades going up and down, not sitting still, can t focus, refusing to read, write, ect. mind is always on something else when it comes to doing something constructive and homework is always a fight. He gets angry very quick and over the smallest things. i have learned to pick my battles. recently he got so mad he bit his arm and dug his fingernails in his arm as well! What could be going on?

Hi..Can understand your concern..As per your query about your child's distracted behaviour..,it seems that he is having ADHD(attention deficit hyperactivity disorder)as the symptoms are giving indication like lack of focus,diverted mind anger and refusal for studies etc..I suggest you not to speak harsh words and be friendly with to make him cool and calm..Advice him for deep breathing and relaxation exercises and medications so that it helps in focusing on studies.I suggest you to consult a psychiatrist for proper counselling and medication if needed to reduce his aggressiveness.I hope the information helps you.Take care.
