What Causes Distended Abdomen And Bloating?

I am 50 year old male that is taking diuretic for ankles that swell through course of day. Over last 30 days my lower abdomen has become distended, feels hard and bloated feeling. When walk to mailbox (50 yards am out of breathe. Very tired throughout day and could go to sleep often. Thank you.

Thank you for the query.

Such symptoms can be cause by several issues. It is always necessary to rule out bowels obstruction. The most common reason of this issue is hernia, however at your age also colon cancer should be considered.
If you have any gas or stool obstruction, cramps, the obstruction is possible. In such case this might be urgent.
If you have any blood in the stool, has lost some weight recently, colon cancer is more possible.
I suggest you to visit your doctor. Abdominal ultrasound, X-ray and blood work should be done at first. Colonoscopy is also necessary.
