What Causes Disorientation, Nausea And Vomiting Despite A Normal CT Scan?
I had back surgery on Sept 8 2016. After the surgery I had headache on the 4th of October I had pain and pressure in the head that doesn t go away nothing gives relief. I presently still have pain and pressure in my head. I noticed lying down helps and caffeine. I d gone to the Emergency three times this month with other symptoms disoriented, slurring, feeling weakness, nausea and or vomiting. My blood work came back abnormal outside of dehydration. Also in the night my bp was dropping to low and at one point I was woken up and another bp cuff was put on to check my bp. I was given a enternist in emerg she wanted to addmit me and I asked if I could deal with this on outpatient. I had a CT scan the results were normal. ( I wanted to deal with what was going on on outpatient being I was scheduled for a move outside of the area I was living ) I also was diagnosed with glaucoma prior to the back surgery I had eye surgery. The pain and pressure in my head and today I have bruise like rings on whites of my eyes. I at this point don t know what it is I should be doing. I definitely feel frustrated and having to function is a struggle.
It is highly likely that glaucoma that you were diagnosed with preoperatively is the chief cause of your headache. The added ophthalmological symptoms that you are suggesting further point towards the same.
Dehydration itself is known to cause a headache. This should be avoided and I would really recommend keeping yourself hydrated.
I would also need further details about the back problem you had and the exact back surgery that was done.
This information is essential since that would suggest a clue to what may be the cause of headache secondary to the surgery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
