What Causes Dislocation Of Kneecap After An Injury?

I think there may be something wrong with my kneecap, most likely caused by a direct blow it probably got sometime in 2014. When I pedal on a bicycle, I can feel it sort of move...or kind of pop in and out of place. After biking for a little while, it gets sore. Also, when climbing up stairs, it makes an audible click. I ve looked online, and have considered a possible Patellar fracture or Patellar tracking disorder, however there is no actual pain or difficulty moving or bending my leg in any way. No pain. What could be the problem? Should I be worried?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
I think you have sustained medial patello femoral ligament tear. In this patella is not anchored in center and it causes recurrent dislocation of knee cap and repeated knee swelling.
I would suggest you to get MRI of the knee joint to confirm the diagnosis. Although there is no pain in the knee joint still whenever there is sub luxation there is minor damage to knee cartilage take place.
So i would recommend you to sports injury specialist and he may advise you to go for a surgery where MPFL ligament reconstruction is done.It is a very successful surgery and there is usually very good results.
