What Causes Discomfort In The Vagina?

I am a 60 yr old woman and lately I have noticed having an uncomfortable feeling in my vaginal area. I feel like I did when I was pregnant and in labor......the feeling of my insides wanting to fall out. I also have a ball-like block in my vagina that will sometimes block my urine. Late in the day I am very uncomfortable and it is hard to stand for any period of time. I know I need to see my physicial but I would like a heads-up as to what it could be and how urgent it is. Thank you!

Hi,

I will try to answer your query. Your symptoms can be due to vaginal laxity or uterine prolapse. Please get a gynecological examination done, for the same.

Till then opt for a healthy diet and regular exercise regime. Start doing Kegel's exercises by tightening the area around the vaginal opening.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar,
