What Causes Discomfort In The Tongue?

It s been about 2-3 days now. It started out with just my tongue feeling waxy, not numb. But last night, I noticed one eye felt weird as I was blinking, like heavier, I figured it might still be soap, because I just washed my hair earlier that day. Now my lips feel numb, more on the left side then the right, and now only some of my tongue on the left side is numb.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Well your symptoms appears like you have numbness of the entire left side of face as heaviness of eye can be due to numb feeling along with numbness in tongue..

It can be due to causes like nerve injury or trauma which is most commonly due to Facial nerve causing facial nerve palsy..

It commonly occurs due to trauma or compression of the nerve..

Transient ischaemic attack or heavy fluctuations in blood pressure or side effects of medications if you take any..

So my suggestion is to consult an Emergency room to be on a safer side and get your vitals monitored and other investigations like MRI Scan and Complete blood count can also be done..

Once the cause is ruled out it can be treated accordingly..
