What Causes Discomfort During Urination And Urge Incontinence?

My name is Cassandra and i m 23 years old. I sometimes hold my urine when a bathroom is not accessible but that has never affected my bladder (as far as i know). I lost my virginity recently to my boyfriend of over 3 years and everything was fine at first but then i started experiencing some discomfort in my lower region while urinating and it was hard to sleep at nights. I got antibiotics and felt better but now it s another story. I don t experience that painful feeling anymore but when i urinate and leave the bathroom, in less than a minute or two i feel the urge to urinate again and when i go back to the bathroom, it s literally only a few drops of urine but it never feels like that. I ve never had a bladder issue before and i m wondering if this is a result of bacteria from having sex. I ve heard that antibiotics are actually bad and can destroy the good bacteria, that probiotics are better. I don t have any STDs and neither does my boyfriend so do i have a bladder infection?

Dear friend, I have gone through your question..
It seems you have acquired a urinary tract infections( urethral infection or a bladder infection).
The symptoms you have mentioned in the history point towards it.
Since you have already taken a course of antibiotics, it will be better if you could do a urine routine examination and confirm the presence of a urinary tract infection.
If there are abundant pus cells in the urine, infection can be a possibility.
The next step would be you have to get a urine culture and sensitivity done and find out the appropriate sensitive antibiotics.
You have to be started on appropriate antibiotics.
Drugs which reduce the urinary irritation can also be taken along with the antibiotics.
You have to maintain and practice proper hygeine.
Drink plenty of water.
Antibiotics should be taken if there is an underlying infection as untreated infections can have serious consequences on kidney function.
Thank you.
