What Causes Discoloration And Soreness In Big Toe?

My big toe has become very sore, my nail has become very brittle and is discolored a couple shades darker than usual almost a white/ light grey color. the tip or the end of the toe has become very red and painful and dry . it almost felt like the end of my toe was rubbing on my shoe at first , but when checking my toe was not even close to the toe of the shoe . It almost looks like there is a nail growing under the toe nail

Dermatologist 's  Response
Sometimes due to repeated trauma our nail becomes thick, brittle and discolored and painful...Unfitted shoes and untrimmed nail are the risk factors for the same...
If you are having any of above than correct it... Always cut straight across: "The nails shouldn't dig down on the sides".
Seek a dermatologist advice to rule out any infection of nail or send me the pic with close view, so that i an help you more..
thanks
