What Causes Difficulty In Urination After Hemorrhoid Surgery?

My husband recently had hemoroid surgery, since that (been a week ago) he has problems urinating. I had to take him to the ER and they put a cather in for a few hrs and sent him home! Still having issues urinating Do u have any idea as to what is going on?

Retension of urine and difficulties in urination is common after surgery. Catheterisation is helpful to void urine. Within few days it will become normal.
