What Causes Difficulty In Urinating And Swelling In The Testicle?
Hi, went to the doctor due to trouble urinating and discomfort. my left testicle is swollen, I Was prescribed doxycycline hyalite 100mg 2x a day. I am 7 pills into the prescription and have not had any relief, still feel the need to urinate frequently but only get very little out. have I given it enough time to make a difference or should I have had some type of relief by now.
The symptoms you are describing is suggestive of epididymo-orchitis. You should start noticing relief within 72 hours of initiation of antibiotics. Since you have not improved after taking 7 pills, please be advised to follow up with your treating physician to consider changing to an alternate antibiotic like levofloxacin. Levofloxacin treats epididymo-orchitis caused by enteric organism. I also recommend undergoing a gram stain of urethral swab to rule out gonorrhea/chlamydia before switching to Levofloxacin.
Hope this answers your questions Let me know if you need further clarifications Regards Dr.Lekshmi
