What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing?

I’m seem to be having trouble swallowing at times. I’m not sure if my body is forgetting how to swallow or if the food keeps going down the wind pipe, but I seem to have a choking episode at least twice a month. Seems like I always have a lump in my throat and/or some little flap in the back of my throat stays open. Would you recommend a specialist?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello welcome to the health care magic

Yes otorhinolaryngologist should be referred for examination of your case.

Posterior pharynx examination and indirect laryngoscopy examination has to be done.

Sometime chronic tonsillitis like condition or Web in pharynx can lead such condition.

If mass present in examination than biopsy should be taken for histopathology examination.

Take care

Hope this will help you
