Dear Doctor, it seems as if mucus is blocking the airway in the roof of my mouth and cuts off my breath for a few seconds until i can swallow and seem to move the mucus. i actually fear i won t be able to get my breath back.This first happened back in december - i had never had it happen before. i had been sick with a sinus cold back in october. it seems to clear up ok. i am 47 yrs old. female adn 5 4 1/2 and I have been diagnosed with a 75% blockage in my carotid artery. i am not on any medications other than a low dose aspirin. I also take quite a bit of ibuprofen for migrain/stress headaches. I am concerned about the loss of breath.
