What Causes Difficulty In Standing Or Sitting?

My wife has an excaserbation of an old fracture of D12. She has exercises to strengthen the spine, but appears to have reached a plateau at three months. Cannot stand long and finds it difficult to sit in chairs other than our own stressless chairs. What s next?

Dear Sir,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM. I suggest she should get one x ray done and see the nearby orthopedics.
I would advice back strengthening exercise for back and Hot water fermentation.
Hot water fermentation to be done 2-3 times a day for 7-10min. The hot water bad to be covered with cotton cloth. Do not keep it directly on skin.
Exercises to strengthen back-
(1) Isometrics of back exercise by placing towel under the back and pressing against it
(2)abdominal curl with knee flexed would help her.
Both exercise can be done for 15 minutes for 2 times a day.
(3)Swimming is very good exercise which she can do it on regular basis.
Dont's:
Do not forward bend
Do not lift heavy weights/object
While getting up from sleeping position to sitting position- turn to one side and get up
Sleep on firm bed
